Love has an immense ability to help heal the devastating wounds that life sometimes deals us. Love also enhances our sense of connection to the larger world. Loving responsiveness is the foundation of a truly compassionate, civilized society. —Sue Johnson

I have spent much of my life working with a passion for helping and supporting my community. I have always felt pulled towards helping fields that allow me to connect with others and provide support. After seeing the ways that being in community can help facilitate the healing process, I strive to create a dedicated space for finding support and growth in my own practice.

I work with clients who are navigating relationship and communication issues, anxiety, depression, trauma, and recent life stressors. I recognize that often we all fall into routines, relationships, and patterns that can cause and increase stress in our lives. Using a client-centered, non-judgmental approach, I believe that each person has the tools required to see positive change occur. Within context all behavior makes sense, and I work with clients to understand their context to build upon the change they want to see.

I holds a Bachelor of Education in Family and Human services from the University of Oregon and a Master of Science in Couples and Family Therapy from the University of Oregon, which is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT). My therapeutic approach is systemically based in an integration of Emotion Focused Therapy and Solutions Focused Therapy. I work with clients to build a deeper understanding of how their relationships, both past and present, often inform who they are in relation to their current stressors. From there, I work to help facilitate the healing process by integrating client’s own skills with evidence-based practices. I enjoy working with couples, families, individuals, adults, and elders.

I strongly believe that true healing comes from self-compassion and building on our own inherent strengths. I recognize that often the systems we are involved in can foster feelings of shame, stress, and grief. I hope to help grow feelings of self-acceptance, joy, and connection from our work together. We are all capable of healing and growing, each of us with our own unique strengths. Once we can grow in our self-compassion it becomes easier to understand our skills and reconnect with joyfulness!
