“Find out what works, and do more of that.” Steve De Shazer

Desmond Tutu once wisely said that “there is only one way to eat an elephant: a bite at a time.”

I believe in meeting people where they are at in a non-judgmental and compassionate way. In my experience everyone possesses the natural ability to track their own path in the forest of life. I work with people to reconnect with this natural skill to perceive the next step in their healing path and my goal is to be their tour guide on this inward journey. I am dedicated to creating a safe place to assist the people I work with to find the courage that lives beneath their fear so that they can do the exciting and challenging work that leads to meaningful change. I have had the privilege of many trips around the sun and this has led me to inhabit the space of “not knowing” so that I can truly listen to a client and be open to unique outcomes. Emotional Focused Therapy(EFT), Solutions Focused Therapy (SFT) and Narrative Focused (NFT) are some of the tools that are in my toolbox as a therapist.

I have had the pleasure of exploring many things in this lifetime. This has allowed me to bring creativity, intuition, curiosity and a unique ability to understand complex systems to my work. My deep curiosity and passion for all that this world has to offer has led me to the experiences of being a glass sculptor, wilderness skills instructor, sustainable foods educator, craftsperson, and crisis counselor.

Having been humbled by life, I have seen how it can lead to growth. In my practice I aim to help people to explore new ways of interpreting what it means to be masculine and to help them become gender balanced in a way that serves them best. I can also offer my experience working with the LGBTQ+ communities and their families and as a parent can help other parents navigate the complexities of being a loving and supportive person in their lives. I find couples work to be challenging and rewarding and hold space for non-traditional relationship groups. In my own explorations I have found that in our current world we have become disconnected from what it means to be human and I hope to help the people I work with to reconnect with their humanness and navigate how to incorporate this humanity into their everyday lives.
