Every human being has a true genuine authentic self, and the trauma is that disconnection from it, and the healing is the reconnection with it. — Gabor Maté
I believe that each individual has the capacity and ability to renew and heal themselves in much the same way that the body is able to heal a wound. The wisdom and strength to heal emotional suffering lies within each of us and is accessible through self-awareness, and with compassionate and non-judgemental support. Together, we will create an environment of safety and trust that is essential for exploring challenging issues and reconnecting with your authentic self.
Using approaches from cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, narrative therapy, and psycho-education I work with both youth and adults in addressing PTSD, medical trauma, attachment trauma, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, life transitions, issues related to interpersonal violence, and issues regarding sexuality, gender, and identity.
As a clinical social worker, I center social justice, the importance of human relationships, and integrity in my practice utilizing a trauma informed approach and with a strong commitment to honoring diversity and difference.
